When you you dance down the street
with the clouds at your feet

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS!

THANKS

Sue Ross   April Palmiter   Michelle Libertone

Once again some didn't follow instructions and we are coming to the conclusion that said folks  may  have to be sent to the principal's office for a stern reprimand.  ;-)    That being stated, your comments were once again intriguing and enlightening.  We thank you kindly.

Our heart is saddened today
as are yours most probably,
at the
murders that occurred in
Virginia at The Bridgewater Plaza
LIVE and ON AIR.

Twenty-four year old reporter Alison Parker
and
Twenty-seven year old cameraman Adam Ward
died at the scene.

Vicki Gardner
Chamber of Commerce Director
was wounded, went through surgery and is expected to recover.

The shooter
[ name not acknowledged on this blog ]
was apparently a disgruntled past employee of
Roanoke's WBDJ7 News
and was seeking revenge for a perceived wrong doing.
[ He died later by his own hand.]

Not only was these murders broadcast live and on air
but
the shooter also videoed-taped the murders himself,
later posting them on twitter and Facebook.

We here at KASIYH blog have viewed
both WBDJ7's video as well as the video taken by the murderer.
Unbelievably sad.

There is, of course, much more to this tragedy,
but for today
we are wondering what could have prevented this tragedy?

Banning all guns?
NOT going to happen.

Tougher gun laws?
Possibly.

We have discussed this here on
KASIYH blog
many, MANY times.

Whilst we "cuss and discuss"
we
wait,
simply
wait,
.
.
.
for the next shooting to occur.

For as sure as the sun will set on this tragedy,
the sun will rise on yet another one
tomorrow,
or
the next day,
or.......
.
.
.
.
.

YOUR
THOUGHTS and COMMENTS:

IS THIS TYPE OF TRAGEDY
PREVENTABLE

or is it

SOMETHING WE MUST ACCEPT
HERE IN THE USA?

GOOD  MORNING  FRIENDS!

THANKS
to all who commented on yesterday's
KASIYH
blog post:

William Barnetson  Dave Mayo  Mary Fuller  Tad Johnson
Lorie Waite-Feldbauer  Meredith Chilson  Cheryl Stanton

[ First paragraph written tongue in cheek ]
FIRST OFF ,,, some of you people need instruction on how to follow the rules!  You were given the choice of ONLY two candidates AND you were told that you only have the information currently available on said candidates.  Geeeeeeesh.
Elmer Fudd, Snoopy, Pat Paulson [although we lol on that one], Bernie Sanders, Jon Stewart, Michael Burke [who IS that fellow anyway? ;-)  ] etc. were not options available to you.  For those of you who attended Belmont Central School during a certain era, we are tempted to write "Do Over!" in RED letters at the top of your comments.  [ Can YOU tell us to whom we are referring ? ]   And Lynne Faecke, you my dear get the Drama Award for your reactions to said questions.  Bravo! Bravo!  [And you made us laugh also Dear O'.]

Seriously, how interesting were the responses to those questions? We truly enjoyed reading each and every one of your comments. Our answers to said questions [ "Justin Case" you are interested ] would be [1.] We would be tingling with anticipation to watch a debate between Trump and Hillary.   [2.] Hillary.

Our good friend Tad Johnson reminded us that even though the media seems to be focused on Trump and Hillary,,,Bernie Sanders continues draw huge crowds.  Tad feels that whatever happens Mr. Sanders will have an effect on the upcoming election.  We agree.  Exactly what that effect will be remains to be seen.  [Thanks for your comments Tadwick, and blessing to you for your final year at college.]

One year ago this month we predicted that when the dust settles [we're in the middle of that dust storm right now], it would be Hillary Clinton as the Dem nominee and Jeb Bush as the Repub nominee.  It sure doesn't appear that way at the moment, does it ?   How anyone could not be on the edge of their seat concerning all this, is  b-e-y-o-n-d  us. WoW!

*******       *******       *******

Since yesterday's questions were a bit intense,
let's go a totally different route today.

Again,
just supposition:

You can return to a maximum of
THREE
times in your life
to
WATCH or PARTICIPATE
as
yourself
 [ but change nothing ]
WHAT times in YOUR LIFE
would you choose to visit?
And
WHY?

[Note: You do not have to choose three, you can choose one or two
times in your life, but no more than three times please.]

ANXIOUS
to read your comments.

BRIEF UPDATE on PAULIE:  As you know Paulie was grieving over Taylor's passing.  Most of that seems to be much improved.  He is still a little lonely sans our Tay, but it seems to be getting better each day.  Once again, it is ever so much easier when MJ is home.  We tired to have him sleep with us Tuesday night [the day Tay passed] but it didn't work (too hyper) so he spent five nights in the kennel where he and Taylor used to sleep together.  This wasn't the best either, so last night we tried having him with us again and unlike last Tuesday night, it worked.  If this continues to be the best thing for Paulie we will obviously break our agreement to not have dogs sleep with us.  [ Last dog to do that was Shannon Patrick,,,who was truly just a human in canine form=extraordinary little guy.]  Whatever works for Paulie is what we will do.   He is most upset when we both leave [as we did Friday evening to visit Joe and Lauire Mead,,,and Sunday morning for church and church picnic] but is absolutely spastic happy when we arrive home again.  One day at a time,,,one day at a time.

*******       *******       *******

Speaking of
JOE and LAURIE MEAD

Pre Taylor's passing we had agreed to go to Mead's on Friday eve.  Then Tuesday's events happened and we were a little hesitant to go out for a regular evening, so to speak.  However it turned out to be thee BEST medicine for weary hearts.  [ Not to mention they allowed us to shower at their home also, which we did. omGoodness,,,a real shower! ]

Not only was the food wonderful, as was the company, but it was great being able to sit and discuss [among other things ] politics with no one getting upset.  This is proof positive that folks can disagree and yet find common ground.  We are not saying that Joe and Laurie are far right people, they are not, but 4998 Noble tend to be a bit more progressive than some people, yet there are almost always things that we can agree on ,,, if we just try.  WHY can't everyone do that?  WHY must so many folks be "MY way or the HIGHWAY"?    WHAT am I missing?   I am extremely interested in the opinions of others, why they feel the way they do, what brought them to the political views they currently hold, etc.  No end to the fascination of human beings and what makes them tick.

Can we all try to be at least a teeny-weeny bit more understanding of one another, especially with another glorious political season upon us?   If we see ourselves becoming steamed, can we stop, take a deep breath and make it our goal to UNDERSTAND one another first and foremost?  It's probably a huge request, but it's one that I personally am going to try to adhere to... [[Disclaimer:  YES you may be able to call me on the carpet come September, October of 2016 concerning this resolution ! ]]  But I AM going to try, really TRY to keep understanding those who hold tightly to views that differ from my own.  How about you?

*******       *******       *******
AND
speaking of politics:

DONALD TRUMP
seems to keep riding in the polls.

HILLARY  CLINTON
seems to keep dropping in the polls.

[ This is overall, and yes we know it's very early in the political process ]

Just for the fun of it,
here's a couple of

It's autumn of 2016
and the
Republican nominee for president is
DONALD  TRUMP

and the
Democratic nominee for president it
HILLARY  CLINTON

TWO  QUESTIONS:
1.] Would you be anxious to watch a debate between these two?

and

2.]  With only these two to choose from,
WHO would you vote for president of the U.S.?

This is just supposition and you only have the info of today
available to you.  Just go with it.
[ If you're so willing. ]
