 FINAL  DAY
of
AUGUST 2016

GOOD DAY MATES

Long time readers of this Blog
will know that GGC is nigh onto
ORGASMIC
today
in anticipation of
AUTUMN
arriving
tomorrow
[Yes, we know it's not technically here until around 9/22,
but to us it arrives tomorrow.]
SEPTEMBER
OCTOBER
NOVEMBER
Oh how I love this time of year!

*

*

*
AND
speaking of
LOVE
your responses to yesterday's
Question of the Day
were
SO
INTERESTING.
GGC thinks we may have to go back
and actually make a hard copy all those
wonder-filled responses.

W8-ty  ISSUES
[ Skip this if it bores you ]
Many of you know that GGC has kept track of his daily w8 since April of 1999
when diagnosed with Type II Diabetes.
After going from  275  pounds at that point
down to below
[sometimes well below]
150
we were able to keep the w8 low[er] for a decade+
THEN
the w8 started to climb upwards again.
Insidiously slow at first.

This was no one's fault but our own.

Shortly thereafter exercise became an issue due to health concerns,
and that
"insidiously slow climb upwards"
accelerated
and before we knew it we had reached
254 pounds
on April 8th, 2015
! Jumpin'  Jehoshaphat !

We got after ourselves and by the end of 2015
had the w8 down to
slightly below 200 pounds.
Great, right?
Not for long.

Right after
Christmas 2015
[when the w8 was 196]
the CLIMB upwards began again
until on 5/31/16
we weighed
216.6
! DANG IT !

The w8 so far in 2016 hasn't gone higher than that horrid
216.6  on  5-31-16
but
what it has done is familiar to those who struggle with their w8:
Down 3 pounds followed by up 2 pounds,
down 1 pound followed by up 1.5 pounds,
ad nauseam.

I feel rather like St. Paul
in that
I know what to do, but I fail to do it.
[ paraphrasing at best = sorry Roger Talbott ]

Back in '99 when the initial w8 came off
people would oft ask:
"How did you do it?"
There was/is no magic pill.
Diet and Exercise was the key at that time.
Now that exercise is a challenge
[to say the least]
and
we are no longer 45 years seasoned
but
rather 62 years seasoned,
the equation has changed a bit.

KNOW  YOUR  BODY
is what we stress
over
and
OVER
and
OVER

Our heart goes out to all women who struggle with their w8.
For some reason
[and yes I've read numerous studies on the subject ]
women do not seem to lose w8 as "easily" as men.
That sucks!

Be that as it may,
KNOW  YOUR  BODY

Are carbs a problem for you?
Is sugar a challenge for you?
Eating post supper time ?
"Grazing"?

Some folks advocate not weighing yourself too often.
For GGC this is not helpful.
The more we weigh our self,
the better off we are.
But for women, not weighing yourself too often,
[esp. if "Aunt Flo" is visiting]
might be VERY helpful in fighting off discouragement.

KNOW  YOUR  BODY

Many folks believe that putting your body into
"starvation mode"
is thee worst thing one can do concerning w8 loss.
But
according to
The Fast Diet Magic Book
by
Caitlin Collins
one can benefit from
fasting then eating
[reasonably]
done in various intervals
16:8
19:5
24:0
[You'd have to read the book to understand this.]
GGC has done / is doing this
and it works great for us.
It might not work for you.

KNOW  YOUR  BODY

Sidenote:  It would be interesting to know whether GGC has more books [both real books and E-books] on the topic of religion or the topic of w8 loss.  One thinks religion would still win out, but w8 loss would be a close second!

We've shared previously
the fact that
naturally skinny people
drive us
CRAZY[er]!
With the passing of the years
[read = decades]
this issue is not quite as pronounced as it used to be.
But it's still there.
Add to that the fact that some skinny folk
SPAZ  OUT
if they gain 1/10 of an ounce

and
we want to slap them positively silly.

There was a time on this
KASIYH
blog that we recorded our daily w8.
When we glanced back at those posts
we saw that we lost w8 more steadily
when we
"answered to you"
so to speak.
Not sure we want to resurrect that M.O. again.
Time will tell.
But for now,
if you need/want
encouragement
or
a
"weight loss tip"
it's
KNOW  YOUR  BODY

KNOW
YOUR
BODY

Had a great E-mail yesterday from a KASIYH reader
explaining their take on the 2016 Presidential race.
Very astute, well worded and intelligent in every way.
Unfortunately the writer of said E-mail
has a very valid reason for not wanting GGC to share
said correspondence.
One might be able to edit it then share it,
but not sure it would retain its potency if we did so.

Lovely meeting
Monday eve
with
Dave Toot, Heidi Mangels, Ryan Keib and MJ
at
The Christian Temple.
The energy emanating from just five people was astounding.

Inspiring telephone chat
with
[Rev.] Carol Stewart
yesterday afternoon.
Cannot begin to express how
wonder-filled
it is to have a priest/pastor
that enjoys working with their Music Director.

OKAY
this about ends it for now.

We
MIGHT
attempt
a

later
today

TIME WILL TELL
! STAY TUNED !

[ Deb Presutti may skip this if she so desires ]

GGC finds no shame in admitting that we are pro Hillary Clinton.  Make no mistake about it, we are not voting for Hillary to oppose Donald Trump, we are PRO Hillary Clinton.  Okay?  Okay.

Also we admit our personal opinion is that Donald Trump is a wing nut.  However we still respect those who are pro Trump, as are many [most?] in Allegany County, even some of our friends are supporters of Mr. Trump.  We find such folks to be fascinating.  We are curious to know why they are backing Mr. Trump, what appeals to them the most.  Some we know, are simply filled with hatred and distrust of Hillary Clinton, but some have concrete reasons for actually supporting Donald Trump

At MJ's place of employment [Saputo/Friendship Dairies] most people are vehement Trump supporters.  So much so that to even attempt to discuss otherwise could lead to explosive arguments or worseFOX News is always on the lunchroom TV and woe unto him/her that dares suggest a change of channel.  Obviously other than a shaking of his head at times, MJ keeps his political opinions to himself for the most part.  GGC would do the same.  Not the best environment to try to hold an intelligent political conversation.

GGC has wondered more than once, whether Mr. Trump really wants to be President of the United States.  One individual told us recently that Trump is doing all of this just to increase his "brand" around the world.  We question that theory, but it has led us to even more contemplation about Trump and his motives.

The current feeling [and polls seem to back it up] that Hillary is going to squash Trump come November 8th is of the deepest concern to us.  "Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall" = Proverbs 16:18 .  So much can happen in an hour around the globe [ or even a minute] that could change everything.  This part of the political equation scares the heck outta us.

Although we doubt we'll have any takers ,,, are there any Trump supporters out there that would like to write a READER'S COMMENTS post for this Blog as to WHY you are backing Mr. Trump?  If so PLEASE email us your submission and we will post it here at KASIYH Blog. [GKS420@verizon.net]   Sure would be interesting.  AND if we DO have someone who does this, PLEASE do NOT beat up on them.  We can [as always] disagree without being disagreeable.

GOOD DAY FRIENDS!

We have a week when we are alone all day
so you'd best prepare yourself for some
KASIYH
blog posts.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Since
Saturday last
our mind is not focusing at all
but instead
is flying all over the freaking place.
You're just going to have to deal with that fact
or
not read this post.
Up to you.

FAT is still a HUGE concern.  We have 54 days until a momentous event in our family and GGC
did not want to attend said event as The Blob that we are.  W8 as of late has been stuck at 202.8  Since even a mediocre dieter should be able to lose 15 pounds in 7&1/2 weeks, GGC should be able to top that.  Please don't preach to us.  We've heard it all before and we are well aware [as you should be IF you've had an eternal battle of the bulge as we have ] that God made each of us unique and very different.  Hence each of our bodies react differently to various ways of eating.  We know our body and you know yours.  GGC knows what worked back in 1999 and continued to work for a  l-o-n-g time thereafter [well over a decade ] and so we will go with what works.  Granted we are no longer 49 years old, but still we DO know us and it is mind over [TONS of] matter.  The great thing about 1999 was we could exercise, in fact we came to thrive on it.  It's very much like a drug, those endorphins kicking in.  Now the legs don't work well at all and as of late the right shoulder decided it needed attention, but WE WILL NOT GIVE UP !!!

*

This morning we were remembering a wedding we attended a few years ago at which the reception did not have designated seating [except for the Bridal table and for immediate family].  As much of a P.I.T.A. it is to figure out seating for a wedding reception, it is even worse when everything is turned into a Hodge Podge of "grab a seat if you can find one" scenario.   MJ and GGC ended up not staying for the reception as there were not two seats together [or even at the same table] available for us.  What a [non] joy THAT situation was.  If one were going to go the non-designated seating arrangement at least have more than enough tables/chairs available to help eliminate the type of experience that we had.  To go with the non-designated seating AND to have just enough tables/chairs for those attending ,,, classless.

Did you know that a while back a KASIYH blog reader informed us that we had an abundance of sex related topics on here and they wanted something else besides sex topics?
That comment threw us for a loop.  We went back and looked at the blog posts [more than once] and even though we didn't see things that way, we stopped writing the posts about "sex" including but not limited to the GAY posts or the posts about "Gay Life in Allegany County" posts, etc.  It made GGC skitterish to say the least.  This was about the time that we also had a post about breast feeding, among others, but said commenter seemed to imply that it was the Gay topics that they'd had enough of ....
DID
GGC
overplay
the Gay posts
back in the days of
and

YOUR THOUGHTS

*
*
*

We have so many comments / ideas on the political scene that it might be best if we have that be one of our themes this week.  It sure isn't boring [to us anyway].  SHAZAM!

*
*
*

GGC's shoulder is hanging in there [pun intended].  Must make an appt. with Dr. Axtell.  After the 2nd time the shoulder dislocated [8-17-16] we have babied the danged thing like there's no tomorrow. Then our sister Mary Jo told us that it IS possible to baby it too much and end up with a "frozen shoulder".  omGoodness ,,,,,,,,,,

*
*
*

TBP:  GGC bought a cake for the one year anniversary of The Bathroom Project, [8-3-16] which we thought was hysterical but MJ = not so much.  We had to explain that we'd rather live "bathroom-less with him than with 1,000 royal bathrooms with ANYone else.  He truly IS thee BEST gift from God that we could EVER have ,,, royal flush or no royal flush,,, MJ is amazing in every way possible and the one and only LOML !

And that about does it for today folks.
Thanks for reading [or not].
Tune in tomorrow for more FREE insipidness from yours truly.

NEW READER'S:
GGC
stands for our three personalities:
G = Gregory = the Good Guy, trying very hard to be a Christ-follower
G = Greg = the one you are most apt to see on any given day.
C = Craig = has no filter on his mouth and is sometimes referred to as the Bad Boy of the three.

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS!

Was just reminded that GGC has a wee bit more time
before our Buddy arrives this morning,
so will try to pop out another post.

This
is
PRODUCTION WEEK
for
MAKING GOD LAUGH
by
Sean Grennan

Details are on our FB page.

For those of you
"in the know"
you realize that
ATTENDANCE
is
VERY IMPORTANT
for this event.

[See May 7th & particularly May 17th Blog posts.]

GGC has directed plenty o' shows
over the decades
and
rarely
[if ever]
has one been such a struggle
to bring to fruition as
"Making God Laugh"
[Although "Suesical The Musical @ GVCS nearly did us in come to think of it.]

What should have been a
"non-issue"
the venue for production,
became a
HUGE
[ 'uge if you're a Trumpster ]
ISSUE.

Although
Nic Gunning
at the
David A. Howe Library
in
Wellsville
F--I--N--A--L--L--Y
did acquiesce and give us dates for the Play,
it was not an easy road.
[ PLEASE read the KASIYH blog post of May 17th.]

THANK GOD
for our friends
at
CTFCC
[Christian Temple First Congregational Church ]
in
Wellsville, NY
They
GRACIOUSLY
offered us the use of their
Mission Center
[ Used to be the Christian Temple worship space ]
and
we accepted
as it is
PERFECT
for us and this production.

These CTFCC friends
have been helpful beyond description.
A
true example
of
Christian Charity and Generosity.

THANK YOU
Pastor Dave Potts
Dave Toot
Kim Toot
George
and
everyone from the
Christian Temple First Congregational Church.

*

*

*
Hence hopefully you can see how
VITAL
we believe attendance to be at this event.
There are those who may wish it to be poorly attended.

But WE won't let that happen,
right
FRIENDS?

*

*

*

MJ is beside himself at this point in time.
Not only is he IN the cast of this Play
he is also Set Designer.
And although we are presenting this with a minimalistic set,
there are still a ton of things to remember.

Add onto this
last Friday's event
with GGC dislocating his shoulder,
and
MJ has been doing triple if not quadruple duties around here.

PLEASE
keep MJ in your thoughts and prayers this week!

*

*

*

How is the shoulder, etc.?
Well reasonably good on Saturday,
not so good on Sunday.

The overt pain of the shoulder on Friday
must have overshadowed some other things that occurred during the "trip"
Knees took quite a pounding during the last half of the fall.
Inside of lips also took a beating
[we knew that at the time via the bleeding, but shoulder was main concern.]
Today, so far, seems better than yesterday.
"One day at a time, Sweet Jesus"

*

*

*
We have had a couple of friends
step forward
to help us this week with the Play.
This has taken some of the stress to a lower level.
THANK
YOU
Donna Holmes and DJ Holmes
as well as
Keturia Capadonia

*

*

*

Some of you have asked about GGC's
W8 loss journey:
It continues.
This morning the w8 was 201.6
which is better than it  has  been
but
when you stop to think that in Dec. we were down to 194
[which is still too grossly FAT ]
we seem to have an eternity to go
in order to arrive at our destination.
*

*

*

We will
TRY
to keep you updated this week
however
we can't promise
ANYTHING
at this point.

Each and every
Production Week
takes on a life of its own.
