Long time KASIYH readers
will recall that
MJ and GK
have a history with
wieners.

Going back to the mid-1970's
and our
Miss Heidi
who ate all those iced Christmas cookies
just prior to our 1975 Christmas party.
[ We wrote a post on this story somewhere on this Blog.]

Then a few years ago,
we had two fur-babies who were
wieners,
Isabella Josephine
and
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
whom we called
Izzy Jo and her brother Mo.

Currently we have what we refer to as
"The Nun's Poodle"
[ with a "country cut" NOT a "Poodle cut" grooming style.]

But we still love us some wieners.
[ Esp. Ray DeTine's,  who has a hairy wiener.]

Hence
we present to you our
HAPPY HOLLOWEENIE
displays:

[ Oh, like you didn't see it coming! ]

SO

to
y'all

*

*

*

And speaking of
wieners
whoever thought that a
Wiener
might be the cause of this presidential election year's
OCTOBER SURPRISE
?       ?       ?

Anthony Wiener's
LAP
top
computer
apparently contains emails
involving his wife,
Huma Abedin
[ who is divorcing him, finally]
and
Hillary Clinton.

This info is according to
FBI Director
James Comey
[ in a rather cryptic and brief announcement made on Friday].

James Comey
is a
Republican
nominated by
President Obama
in
June 2013
to head the FBI.

Mr. Comey
was confirmed by the Senate
July 29, 2013
and
thereafter sworn in
as
Director of the FBI
September 4, 2013.

I envy not FBI Director Comey.

The wording of his announcement on Friday
was far from adequate,
[ IMHO ]
and
there are great questions concerning his motives
in being so enigmatic.

However
can you even begin to
IMAGINE
the outcry
had Mr. Comey not released this information
until
AFTER
November 8th
?

Wieners,
Wieners,
Wieners,

they can bring such
JOY
or
[ in the case of Anthony Wiener and his LAPtop  ]
bring us to some
hard
choices,
where we never know what's
comin'
next.

GOOD AUTUMN MORNING FRIENDS

Cannot begin to thank y'all enough for your comments
on
yesterday's
KASIYH
Blog post

We read and re-read all of those beautiful words that you took the time to write.  I'm here to tell you that we'll be commenting on "Merle and Earl's Grand Adventure" to Phoenix, AZ for the next few days.  Am especially looking forward to when MJ downloads the photo's from our trip.  That will actually show you a great deal.  Today [sans those photo's] I'll just make some random reports and observations concerning our G.A. [Grand Adventure].

*  We finally [MJ actually] got our luggage out of the attic late Wednesday night,  then we got a [very] few things around but not packed, deciding instead to do so on Thursday morning. [The day we were leaving!].  Surprisingly this all worked out [thank Goodness for my lists], esp. when it came to GK being too occupied to dwell on the upcoming flight.
And speaking of our luggage,,,when we checked in at The Clarendon Hotel and Spa in Phoenix, the gals at the desk loved our "retro" luggage.  One girl said " I have never actually seen luggage like that in person, only on TV and such!"  When we told her it was not something purchased on E-bay or Craig's List, but rather each of us had been given said luggage for our High School graduation, her mouth just hung open.  WIDE open!   Yes, the dinosaurs had arrived.  How funny is that?

*  The plane taking off from Buffalo had me squeezing MJ's hand like there was no tomorrow [which I thought there might not be], however the flight [direct] to Phoenix was not overtly turbulent, thank You God !

*   Those danged plane bathrooms = how much smaller could they possibly be?  The next comment is not going to be politically correct, so I apologize in advance.  IF indeed there are members of the "1,000 mile club" [or whatever it's called] they must be mainly Asian = tiny people.  Good Heaven's.  ;-)

*  My legs gave me fits in the airports, really painful.  Just kept thinking about where we were headed and got through it.

*   Poor Mr. Michael [ MJ ] when we arrived at Phoenix Airport, our Uber app didn't work, he was SO frustrated.  Ended up calling a cab.  It. Was. Rush. Hour. In. Phoenix.  Oh my Goodness!

*   Most of y'all know we don't travel often.  Some folks like/need to get away every six months or so.  We took trips in 1975, 1985, 2000, 2010 and now this year, 2016.   Only 2010 and 2016 involved flying.  Hence, each and every trip seems like a big deal to us.  Thank God for family that realize this fact and make traveling as easy as possible for us.

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT THANKS TO:
Brother-In-Law ~ Jim McNinch
Sister ~ Mary Jo Feldbauer McNinch
Niece ~ Da Rev. Sistah Kimmy Feldbauer Boddington
Nephew [and one of the Grooms!] ~ Casey McNinch

The above family helped us
a
GREAT DEAL
with our travel arrangements
and
helped us get around whilst we were there.

*   There's so much to say about Sunday afternoon and evening at brother Yog [Mark Feldbauer] and sister-in-law Lorie Waite-Feldbauer's home, but will wait until we have the pics to go along with that wonder-filled evening.

*  Getting to actually know Mark and Lorie's "kids" [all adults] was so delightful.  Each and everyone of them is a priceless gem, and I truly mean that.  Talk about being surrounded by LOVE!  And I might add [no small thing here folks] all five of them are respectful beyond description.   "Kids" [and you'll always be "kids" to us ] if you're reading this, we love EACH of YOU sooooooo very much, never forget that, okay?  And Mark and Lorie ,,,,,,, you have raised some of the greatest "kids" ever , , , and to that we say;

*  Saturday afternoon we hop on the shuttle [ provided by the Groom's ] to take us from The Clarendon to the wedding venue.  There was a gal seated to my right that said "So, are you here for the Groom or the Groom?"  CRACKED ME UP!  Turns out this gal was Brandon's Aunt Dee Dee  [ Brandon's Mom's sister ].  Monday afternoon at Casey and Brandon's I had a chance to talk with her for quite a bit of time.  One of those "D's" MUST stand for Deeee-lightful.  What a gal.

*   The entire trip seemed to be like meeting "Aunt Dee Dee".  We were on the elevator at The Clarendon [Sunday morning ]with this short little gal, began talking and she and her partner had been married just a month ago. We shared with her the fact that our nephew had just gotten married to his partner the day before.  She then asked about us and when we said we'd been together [non-legally married] for 40 years, she nigh onto cried [tears of joy BTW].  Forty years in "gay time" is like 160 years in "str8 time".  [ Long story ].  What a JOY to be able to talk honestly about ones life like it's the most natural thing in the world.  Not so much like Allegany County.  MJ told Mary Jo that he hasn't felt that relaxed in f-o-r-e-v-e-r ,,, we needs must be so careful 24/7 when we're here in A.C.  [With rare exceptions]. Until we were in Arizona, we hadn't fully grasped how closed we still must remain here ,,, and how open life is elsewhere. Amazing.

*   Casey and Brandon [ the Grooms ] are amazing guys, to put it mildly.  They each have worked so very hard, have marvelous careers and are ever so much in love one with the other.   We hope in some way that we have inspired them, for they sure inspire us.

The entire
ARIZONA ADVENTURE
brings to mind
for
MJ and GK
a very old song:

And all God's children said:

We lived to see the day
when
the
impossible dream
became
reality.

Surrounded by
FAMILY
and
Friends
and
more
LOVE
than could ever be measured,
two fine young gentlemen
became legally wedded one-to-the-other.

That which had caused such animosity and division
forty years ago
[ via MJ & GK ]
brought endless
happiness and unity
to all present
[ and beyond ]
on Saturday last.

Just before the ceremony began
Yog
[ brother Mark Feldbauer ]
reached over and squeezed my hand;
never saying a word,
his loving grasp said it all.

Once
Casey and Brandon
were down front
ready to commit
their lives to each other,
Michael took my hand and never let go.

It was a loving gesture forty years in the making.

We spoke not,
we didn't need to
[ and couldn't have, as we were both crying too hard ].

Michael to my left,
Yog to my right
and
on the other side of Yog sat
Dad
[ Jim Feldbauer ].

Long time KASIYH readers,
[ as well as close family and friends who know "the story".]
think about that for a moment.

38
YEARS
of
estrangement
[ 1976 to 2014 ]
and
there we were,
sitting in the same row
witnessing
Casey and Brandon's
wedding
T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R

Unbelievable

   MERL & EARL'S
GRAND ADVENTURE
to
Phoenix, Arizona
Part 1

Good Day Friends.   We made it to Phoenix yesterday but ran into some challenges along the way, to put it mildly.  Internet not cooperative on plane, both our phones died, uber app. refused to work, rather mad taxi cab RUSH HOUR ride to the Hotel, exhausted when we finally got here.  MJ was really tired and NOT in anything even close to a "jolly" mood, hence did not make it to Casey & Brandon's last night.   Sorry fella's.  Will see them and hopefully rest of family at tonight's Clarendon Hotel rooftop celebration for the boys.
Suppose to be a high of 98 degrees today with a low of 72 degrees.  SUNNY.....absolutely GORGEOUS !!!  We're hearing of much rain back home.  WoW!
ARIZONA ??? ...From what we've seen so far.....we could spend much more time here.
     MORE UPDATES LATER HOPEFULLY.
And so it goes,  I'm outta here,

For
MICHAEL JAMES FELDBAUER

Sunday last
[ October 16th ]
we celebrated four decades committed to one another.

Neither one of us has had any previous serious relationships,
no previous marriages.
Through all the struggles it's been
only
US

Most of our regular
KASIYH
readers
know that it seems like it took nigh onto forever
for us to come to grips with our love for one another.

In the current times in which we live
the struggles would have been far less.

But
in
1976
it was a different story all together.

[ We first mentioned our gay situation in the 10/30/14 post
due to something that transpired on FB at that time.]

[ First mentioned our marriage on here  11/2/15 ]

{{  You can look them up if you so desire }}

We don't make a big deal out of our anniversary.
Many folks can't tolerate even the thought of such a thing.
Hence we are very thankful indeed
for those who do choose to be happy for us.
[ Not begging for congrats here BTW ]

This year we chose to share this anniversary with the choir
at
St. John's Episcopal Church
in Wellsville, NY.

We were both ecstatic
that each and every choir member were more than okay
with the news.
They surrounded us with their
love and congratulations.
As did
The Rev. Carol Stewart
by the way.

MJ and GK
made the choice not to go forward just before mass
[ during the blessings for birthday's and/or anniversaries ]
just in case there might be someone present
that would be less than congenial about us doing so.

Some of the choir members thought we should have done so.
The majority of the
[American]
Episcopal Church
is fine with gay marriage.
That being said,
for now we felt it best to not
"rock the boat".

Maybe someday ~ somewhere
[ One of the songs played at our wedding ]

Tomorrow we leave for
Phoenix, Arizona.
We'll have a super-great time with
FAMILY
for sure.

But the main reason we are going
is
the
WEDDING
of
these two fine gents.

CASEY McNINCH and BRANDON KULP

Casey is our nephew
Jim and Mary Jo (Feldbauer) McNinch's youngest son.
Brandon is our soon-to-be nephew.

HOW
FREAKING
COOL
IS
THAT
?   ?   ?

40
years
[ and six days ]
after we did the
unthinkable
[ and highly unacceptable ]
these two
WONDER-FILLED
GENTLEMEN
will
"tie-the-knot"
in the attendance of,
and
with the well wishes of,
Family and Friends
galore.

GK is crying just writing this post.
[ Can't imagine actually being there on Saturday.]

MJ and GK
can hardly comprehend that we have actually lived to see this day.

To say that we are over-joyed for
CASEY and BRANDON
is an vast understatement.

We will be sitting there Saturday afternoon
in
complete
amazement and awe,
praying for them both
as they publically proclaim
they're
undying love
one for the other.

What a day it will be for
Casey and Brandon.

What four-decades it's been for
Mike and Greg.

Let us never forget
THE JOURNEY
it's been
getting from
one
to the
other

HAPPY AUTUMN MORN FRIENDS!

And a
HUGE
to all who read
and
ESPECIALLY those who COMMENTED
on yesterday's
KASIYH
Blog post.

Y'all
gave me some wonderful advice.

Feeling much better about this trip today
than I was yesterday.

*

*

*

Just a couple of rather humorous stories to share.
[ I find them funny, you might not.]

First,
at last Thursday's eve's
St. John's Choir
rehearsal
I took my Kindle and had two versions of the song
The Longer I Serve Him
[ by Bill Gaither ]
for the choir to listen to before they learned this song
as Sunday's Communion Choir anthem.
Here's a version of that song:

And the next version was to be the same song
only from another Christian artist,
but
instead
THIS
is what came up next on my Kindle:

So what did
GGC
do
?

Stood up behind piano
and
started
jiving
of course!

Perhaps not quite a
"Communion anthem"
but in
GGC World
it darn well could be a
Processional, Recessional
or
danged good
Prelude Music
[ with different lyrics of course! ]

This is just one example of the
HOLY SPIRIT'S
sense of humor

Yesterday whilst doing house chores
[ yuck ]
I remembered a story from my youth.
[ or "yute" as  former Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago would have said ]

The
GREENWICH STREET GANG
NOT the GSG, we were older but equally united!

from the early to mid sixties or so,
were quite the neighborhood group.

[ Oh the stories that could (and maybe someday will) be told.]

At any rate at one point in time
a certain male member of the gang
announced to the guys
that he had a new girlfriend.
[ This was to make a certain female member of the gang jealous we found out later.]
The guys were transfixed as we listened
to our somewhat older/senior
gang "leader" speak of his new gal.

First off, she was not one of "us".
[ Not a member of The Greenwich Street Gang ]
not only outside of the gang
not even from Belmont,
a
complete
foreigner!

As the guys were filled in on the details of this
"foreign woman"
[ Read = maybe 14 or so years old ]
we
were
in
complete
AWE
! ! !

Her long, auburn hair,
her beautiful smile,
her sensuous eyes,
her "come hither" type personality.

o
m
Goodness.

THEN
we
were
told
her
name
[ THIS is the part that cracked me up when I remembered it yesterday ]

well,
it simply blew us outta the water

This
foreign
[ she was from somewhere like Belfast, Fillmore or even maybe Wellsville, can't recall ]
exotic
enticing
alluring
vixen's
name
was

*

*

*

*

*

*

*

*

*

*

! SHELIA !

Was there a guy present at that moment
[ str8 or Gay ]
that didn't get a "woody" just from hearing that name
?

[Or maybe it was how the one telling the story gave the details ?]

No one in the GSG ever had actually known a
Shelia
prior to this
astounding
moment in time.

Perhaps all the guys stood taller that day
because
we knew someone who was dating a
Shelia.

[This would be outdone in the future by the same guy
who went on to date an Ursula, but for now it was all about the Shelia.]

Today that name is far from exotic
and
Belfast, Fillmore or Wellsville
are no longer anything
foreign, enticing or alluring.

But in a long ago era,
pre
cell phones,
internet,
remote controls,
color TV's,
instantaneous everything,
there existed a simpler time,

a time when our imaginations were the be all and end all,
when a fellow GSG member
could weave a tale
of a
foreigner
that was "hot" for him,
and with such story as that,
not only held us all in the palm of his hand
but
gave us HOPE that we too,
someday
might have a chance at our very own
" SHELIA "

Side note:
As I was writing this I
"Binged"
the name / image
SHELIA
and
here is the very first pic that showed up:

I kid you not.
