TUESDAY, September 5th In The Year of Our Lord 2017

Thunderstorms and rain during the night and more of the same this morning.  At least maybe the youngin's won't mind going
once they get out of the rain and into the school.

With Labor Day now passed and the school year starting, that means St. John's choral season also begins this week. [Thursday, the 7th]

When I left off with them on Sunday, April23rd, we thought we'd be back in a week or two.  Ya know how that worked out.  I feel poorly that they never got a "Season ending mass" as we usually do every year, with photos, a cake and a celebration after church, but there was nothing to be done about that "interruption" I guess.

So it's onward and upward to another choral year filled with music and laughter, combined with an effort to be "just a wee bit better" than the previous year, with plenty o' space for the Spirit to do His work amongst us.

It never ceases to amaze me when directing [a choir, play or musical] the dichotomy between what goes on behind the scenes and what the people see as the end product.  Even before rehearsals commence, there is so much work to be done.  Any director worth his/her salt spends unimaginable hours creating the needed "vision" in their minds.   ENOUGH!  One could write about this till the cows come home.

But just so you know, my mind will be mainly focused this week on St. John's Choir.

LOVED your answers to the wedding month questions.  There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to the wedding months chose after all.  GREAT answers though folks.  THANK YOU !

Okay, I'm pressed for time as I promised myself I would have this posted by 9:00am in order to get to other things on my TDL.

Let's STAY on the "wedding" theme of questions.  Here's a couple for you.

1.]  Of someone you've  personally known , what's the greatest amount of marriages anyone has had?  [Sans names in order to protect the innocent.] I think for me it is five or six for one gal.  It was almost a competition twixt her and her sister[s].

2.]  Also, what about a couple who was married, then divorced [perhaps were married to other folks in between] then re-married one another later on ?  Have you known of any? [yes]  Do they count the cumulative years together as "their marriage"?  What anniversary date do they celebrate if they'd been married on different days of the year?  Do the second marriages to their first spouse seem to last?  Thoughts ?
